How can I create ACA Reporting from the data I have in my staffing software database?

Before creating any reports or spreadsheets on your own, check with your staffing software vendor to see if they will be offering any reporting. This will significantly decrease the time that you need to spend on the project. The most important fact to keep in mind is that unless you are entering and storing appropriate data in your database, you will not be able to benefit from any reporting. Find out what reports will be required and then check your database to make sure you have supporting information in order to produce the reports. Once that is established it will only be a matter of getting a report upgrade from your staffing software vendor or creating reports with a report writer or integrated spreadsheet. Remember, the reports are tools to help you manage placements and stay in compliance. Reports should not be used in attempt to bypass the system. Most say that besides the extra reporting and administrative effort, it will be “business as usual” for the staffing industry as most staffing companies offer insurance to regular employees based upon hours worked.
